| Sekret: The President
of Germany came to the Afghan Museum
The German President Gerhard Schröder
and his family came incognito to Hamburg for a quick
visit. His car pulled up infront of the Afghan Museum,
located in the old "Speicherstadt" of Hamburg
, on Thursday afternoon. The President went to the entrance
and bought tickets like a normal citizen. He said: "Two
adults and one child, please" The bodyguards were
waiting in the background. "Not until I looked
up I noticed that the Presisdent was standing right
infront of me", Nek Mohamed remembered about the
moment that Schröder stood at the cash desk. "I
was so nervos." Schröders daughter got in
for free because the owner of the museum treated her
the ticket. "That is a costom in Afghanistan. Children
don`t have to pay", Mohamed told us. The President,
his wife Doris and their daughter Klara were looking
very interested through the museum. Pictures, sculpturs,
document - Afghanistan`s culture and history till the
beginn of the "Taliban Regimes" in the end
of the year 1996. You get to see the reproductions of
Buddha, Bamiyan and of Minarett of Djam.
"The President was also interested in knoted carpets",
Mohamad mentioned. Schröder told him that he only
accidentally heard about the Afghan Museum at the "Speicherstadt".
The sailsman Mohamad founded the Afghan Museum at the
"Sandtorkai 32" in 1998. (Business times are
