Sekret: The President of Germany came to the Afghan Museum

The German President Gerhard Schröder and his family came incognito to Hamburg for a quick visit. His car pulled up infront of the Afghan Museum, located in the old "Speicherstadt" of Hamburg , on Thursday afternoon. The President went to the entrance and bought tickets like a normal citizen. He said: "Two adults and one child, please" The bodyguards were waiting in the background. "Not until I looked up I noticed that the Presisdent was standing right infront of me", Nek Mohamed remembered about the moment that Schröder stood at the cash desk. "I was so nervos." Schröders daughter got in for free because the owner of the museum treated her the ticket. "That is a costom in Afghanistan. Children don`t have to pay", Mohamed told us. The President, his wife Doris and their daughter Klara were looking very interested through the museum. Pictures, sculpturs, document - Afghanistan`s culture and history till the beginn of the "Taliban Regimes" in the end of the year 1996. You get to see the reproductions of Buddha, Bamiyan and of Minarett of Djam.
"The President was also interested in knoted carpets", Mohamad mentioned. Schröder told him that he only accidentally heard about the Afghan Museum at the "Speicherstadt".
The sailsman Mohamad founded the Afghan Museum at the "Sandtorkai 32" in 1998. (Business times are daily from 10am - 5pm, more informations under: www.afghan-museum.de).
